A STILL ON A LAND IN MOTION, Maher Attar Solo Exhibition

In A Still on a Land in Motion, the Lebanese artist Maher Attar engages with the paradox of stillness within continuous transformation. The works hold fragments of landscape, memory, and presence in suspension, resisting the velocity of change that defines their context.

Attar’s practice operates through reduction and restraint. Surfaces appear quiet, yet carry accumulated traces, gestures that suggest both erosion and persistence. What is fixed is never entirely stable, and what is in motion is not fully visible. This tension produces images that feel paused, but never at rest.

Rather than documenting a place, the exhibition constructs a condition. A territory where time folds onto itself, where absence and presence coexist without resolution. A Still on a Land in Motion situates Attar’s work within an ongoing negotiation between what remains and what continues to shift.
