St. Regis Marsa Arabia

Located on a private island within The Pearl, Qatar, St. Regis Marsa Arabia brings together luxury hospitality and private residences within a landmark waterfront development.

The comprehensive art program was developed and delivered through Anima Gallery, with Mohamad Makouk overseeing art consultancy and project management across the development's public spaces, restaurants, suites, and private residences.

The collection brings together works by internationally recognized artists, including Manolo Valdés, Damien Hirst, and KAWS, alongside monumental sculptures, digital artworks, and bespoke commissions conceived in response to the architecture.

A large-scale suspended installation forms the centerpiece of the atrium, introducing a sculptural dimension to the building's vertical space and establishing a dialogue between contemporary art, architecture, and the hospitality experience.

Between Heaven & Earth

Between Heaven and Earth is a bespoke light installation developed in-house for the lobby’s central atrium of St. Regis Marsa Arabia, The Pearl Doha.

Composed of suspended glass and brass elements arranged through the full height of the atrium, the installation introduces a vertical rhythm that activates the architectural volume. The composition brings together botanical forms and abstract birds, establishing a dialogue between grounded elements and ascending movement.

Developed during the global pandemic, the work reflects a moment of pause and reconsideration. Positioned against the glass façade overlooking the Gulf, the installation engages natural light throughout the day and becomes a luminous focal point for the space at night.

Rather than functioning as a decorative chandelier, the piece operates as a spatial intervention that defines the atrium and anchors the visual identity of the interior.
