FLUID SYMPHONIES, Zheng Lu Solo Exhibition
Fluid Symphonies presents a body of bespoke works in which Zheng Lu extends his practice into Arabic script, transforming letters into stainless steel structures that appear to flow while remaining fixed. Language is no longer read, but constructed, where each character becomes part of a larger spatial composition.
Drawing from the fluidity inherent in Arabic calligraphy, the works hold a tension between movement and permanence. Solid metal carries the illusion of water in motion, while the script, stripped of its linguistic function, operates as rhythm, density, and form.
Through processes of cutting, welding, and polishing, Zheng Lu positions material and language within the same field. What emerges is a continuous negotiation between structure and flow, where meaning is not delivered through text, but formed through the encounter with form itself.
